The Coyote Corner is a location on the second floor in the Museum designed for children under 6 and their caregivers and family members. The area provides experiential, full-body experiences that engage children in understanding how rivers and our natural environment can be a reliable source of clean energy, produce jobs, and contribute to the beauty of our area.

The space encourages children to play and engage themselves in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) based activities where they begin to build a science identity that will be foundational to becoming adults with a high science IQ.

The construction part of the project is complete and included a redesign of stairs that allow access to an upper level play area, the removal of a closet to provide more space, work on the floor surface, and painting. The cost for this work was $11,420 and we expect to receive an invoice soon.

The remaining work involves ceiling and wall murals by local artist, Lindsey Breidenthal. That work will be done by early next year and is estimated at $4300. Any remaining funds will be used to purchase educational play equipment for the space.
