SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT - ONLINE MEETINGS
During the COVID-19 pandemic, our regular meetings will be online (virtual) using ZOOM technology.  Initially, all meetings are at 6 PM each Thursday.  To join in CLICK HERE.   Any Rotarian or friend of Rotary may attend.  Many clubs in our district are doing this for the near future;  a similar protocol may be expected, or a password required.
SECURITY ALERT -  Because of recent unwanted disruptions to online meetings nationally, security is being tightened for most virtual meetings.  This week, attendees must first be cleared through a "waiting room" by the host.  If you are not recognized, you may be quizzed.
To find/join other clubs' virtual meetings, CLICK HERE ;  for security purposes, ClubRunner login is required.

   UPCOMING PROGRAMS
APRIL 09 - JOYFUL SCHOLARS MONTESSORI
With Director Cara Hackenmiller & Jill Leonard
This meeting will be held via ZOOM; Thursday, 6 PM
Joyful Scholars Montessori  is Wenatchee's only pre-K/adolescent school, providing "a holistic year-round education in the Montessori tradition, empowering students to use sound judgement, evaluate and understand the world around them, and be well-informed, contributing citizens."
Cara Hacknmiller is director of Joyful Scholars Montessori School, a nonprofit toddler-high school program in Cashmere and Wenatchee.
Cara has lived in the Wenatchee Valley for 13 years with her family; husband, 3 children, dogs, cats and chickens!  She loves to grow plants, paint, sew, and spend time with family. Cara's purpose in life is to provide a Montessori education to students in the Valley, bringing teachers, parents, and students together to cultivate peace within the classroom, the school, and the community.   Cara has developed some creative ways to teach during these difficult times.

WEEK IN REVIEW -  APRIL 02 (ZOOM)
With Lacy Stockton & Dominick Bonny
Together Wenatchee is a grassroots response to COVID-19,  to share current info with our community on how local small businesses are adapting and how you can support them.
[Don't Amazon, think Wenatchee]. It was begun as a volunteer effort by Lacy and her husband as a way to help our community stay alive through this critical time.  After a few days, she reached out to Dominick for help in creating the website.  It provides a platform to help the community stay informed about what businesses are doing to adapt., helping us to Shop Local!
[Amazon is thriving while our neighbors are struggling. Support them.]

Our small businesses need a single way to keep customers informed to share how they're adapting to protect you and what you can do to support them, without the clutter of social media.   Here, you can find up-to-date info on store hours, take-out and delivery options and where to buy online or over the phone for Wenatchee area small businesses, 100% free for everyone.  It includes about 100 local businesses of all types, and growing oganically and is bringing some positivity to the business community.  Some encouraging success stories were shared which have come in through the "Check-In" feature.  The platform functions much like an online mall.  It brings in several hundred visitors daily.  The related Facebook group has about 1500 members.  This is like our "FEMA tent", with all volunteers.  LISTEN TO AUDIO OF THIS PROGRAM

On World Polio Day, October 24, collections at KPQ totaled. about $700 by our club.  Also, total donations at the Greatest Dinner to End Polio were about $6611 between all clubs represented, plus about $700 in pledges.  Other uncounted donations are made by members through other avenues.
