A Florida native, Lauren Scanga has lived in Washington State on and off since 2014. She earned her Bachelors in Business Administration and Masters of Science in Agricultural Education and Communication both from the University of Florida. She spent several years in higher education working for the University of Florida extension system and then with Washington State University Extension overseeing community and 4-H youth development research and outreach programs in counties across Washington. She even dabbled in some international development projects too, working with educators in Burundi, Haiti and Paraguay. Come and hear the rest of Lauren's exciting story, which she will tell unless the baby comes first.

DOLLARS FOR HANWASH. Carin Smith writes, "We were thrilled to accept a check for $8,890 from the East Wenatchee Rotary Club, for the Haiti HANWASH project. These funds were raised via their work with the “Water from Wine” program (www.waterfromwine.org ). Attending our meeting on January 27 were East Wenatchee Rotary members Michael Machado (incoming President of their club) and Mike Nicholson (Board member). These funds will go towards their pledge for the RF Global Grant ($1550) and for future stages of the Ferrier water system. The East Wenatchee Rotary club has committed to continuing the program to raise funds over time for the project. Anyone who wants to buy wine for a cause can go to www.waterfromwine.org , click on “shop,” then scroll till you see the East Wenatchee Rotary label and the description “Clean water for Haiti.” We are so grateful and excited to be partnering with our fellow clubs to help the people of Haiti!"

--- DEAR APPLESAUCE ---
Dear AppleSauce: Did you snag anything good at the auction?
-- Pat Thettick
Dear Pat. A couple Mai Tai’s and three phone numbers. How did you score?
Dear Applesauce: I missed the auction, can I still contribute?
-- Busy Rearranging My Sock Drawer
Dear Busy. Of course you may still contribute. Make your payment to Wenatchee Rotary Foundation and make sure to note it is “For the Kids.” Since there won’t be another auction for two more years, include a lot of zeros on the check (no, not ALL zeros, Mr. Heminger). And if you were somewhere warm the night of the auction, double that amount!
