     BUILDING COMMUNITIES AUCTION UPDATE
JANUARY 25, 2020

TICKETS

On 12/19 Jill Leonard gave an auction update.  Listen HERE to Jill.   We now have 24 of 35 table sponsors.  All game sponsorships are sold! A new thing this year:  a Corn Hole Tournament.   Frank Jorgensen has made some beautiful game boards which will be auctioned.  We have one silent auction sponsor, but need two more.  Speak to anyone on the committee.  We have raised so far about $28K toward our goal of  $120 K. So we need donations.  Auction items need to be submitted before the  Jan 8 deadline for publishing the program. Small things can be bundled.  Reminder - table seats of 10.   The drop-off location for auction items is Health Alliance office (corner of Chelan & 5th), or call Leonard Singhose.   Engage with  our FB page, leave comments.   Listen HERE to Jill.

Prior message from Bill.
Thank you Rotarians for your time, treasure and things! We need more things! Wine (not complaints but quality wine over $20), art, a motorcycle, time in your condo or vacation home, a feast for 6-8-10 or more home cooked or catered, etc. Thanks to each of you for making a difference in our community and around the world! Yours in Rotary service, Bill Murray

Tickets for this year’s auction are now on sale.  Tickets and information are available online HERE and/or they can be purchased at a meeting. The event is also on live on Facebook. So please share it and encourage your friends to attend. We are also actively taking donations big and small.  Any donation checks should be made out to The Wenatchee Rotary Foundation.  On Dec. 5, Bill Murray and the "Crazy Auction Lady" Jill Leonard gave a humorous tag-team appeal....LISTEN HERE to Jill and Bill.

President Mike ended the meeting with a creative "State of the Club" report, by asking members to stand if they were involved with various activities, including transporting Carmen, Gorge concessions, Rotary Park, fellowship events, hosting Beatrice, attending RLI or other Rotary training, visiting other clubs, Centennial planning, serving on the board, attending new-member breakfasts, nominating new members, serving on the International or Community Service Committees, social times with other members, working on the bylaws, budget preparation, made a new Rotary friend, Women in Rotary event, Bell-ringing, Lunch Buddies, Interact or Youth Exchange involvement.  Most stood multiple times.  We are the greatest Rotary club in the World.  Mike then welcomed all new members, and mentioned those members recently deceased.   Our membership is strong - we have 98 active, and 9 honorary members.

End Polio Now/Club 60:      Our goal this year is $7500.  On December 19, Club-60-cup donations totaled  $245.31 bringing our total to $1033  or $3099 with the Gates match!   This equates to 5175 lives potentially saved!
On World Polio Day, October 24, collections at KPQ totaled. about $700 by our club.  Also, total donations at the Greatest Dinner to End Polio were about $6611 between all clubs represented, plus about $700 in pledges.  Other uncounted donations are made by members through other avenues.
14%        [Goal is $7500 for Rotary year]

Note:  We continue our 10-year relationship with the Gates Foundation.  Since 2013, they have matched each dollar with $2 toward polio eradication.
