Pair & Share 2.0.
Similar to the Pair & Share in the fall, members are encouraged to connect with each other outside of Rotary meetings. You can meet for coffee, lunch, cocktails or just sit in outside. The purpose is to deepen our connections with each other. For Pair & Share 2.0, the focus will be connecting with the new members since July 2022. View all the Pair & Share photos to date on our website home page as a scrolling carousel. See list of new members here ; login is required.
UPCOMING EVENTS. CLUB SPRING TRAINING EVENT (CSTE)
This will be the 4th annual online District Training session, to be held on as one meeting each of 3 consecutive evenings from 5:00-6:30pm (Tuesday 11 April to Thursday 13 April). This is the perfect chance to “look under the hood” and share your ideas with other members of the district. This training is more information sharing than a lecture. Pick the topics that interest you.
Separate Zoom registration is required for each evening and the links are:
ALL-SERVICE-CLUB LUNCH. Wenatchee Convention Center. Join us on Wednesday May 3 at the All Service Club luncheon, a highlight of the Apple Blossom Festival. This is our chance to hang out with others who are making an impact in the community. President Jill has purchased a table. Get a ticket from her at only $25, or purchase them here.
Doors open at 11:30 AM, program begins at noon. Help us honor our 2023 Apple Citizen of the Year, community leaders, and hearing from our Keynote Speaker, 2023 Grand Marshal Sarah Babbitt.
Unlike previous years, we will also meet on May 4 for our regular gathering (at the Museum).
SERVICE PROJECT OPPORTUNITIES.
APPLE BLOSSOM RECYCLING/COMPOSTING. Environmental Chair Natalie Williams announced last week:
Thank you for supporting the club and volunteering your time.
Youth Exchange 2023-2024.
We are looking for host families for our female inbound exchange student from the Netherlands. Families do not need to host the entire time. If you would like to host a student for all or a part of the school year, contact RYE chair Brett Riley.
WVC SCHOLARSHIP VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - Rachel Evey called for volunteers to assist in screening some of the hundreds of applications received each quarter. Evaluator training is provided. Visitfoundation@wvc.eduor 509-682-6410. Or try Rachel's email here.
Through the connection with fellow Rotarian Dr. Michelle Price, Superintendent of the NCESD, the WRF Scholarship Committee is able to conduct our interviews at their wonderful facility. Due to Covid the committee hasn’t been able to conduct face-to-face interviews. After 3 years hiatus, the committee is back with our in-person interviews for this year's Wenatchee Rotary Foundation scholarships. The WRF Board
has given the 'green light' to select 5 worthy recipients this year to receive
financial support for up to 4 years or achievement of a bachelor's degree whichever comes first. This is an increase in total scholarships awarded. This is totally due to the strong financial support the Club has shown to their own Wenatchee Rotary Foundation.
Thank you so much for support the future of our youth and Rotary.
