Program of January 19:
YMCA
With Dorry Foster, Executive Director
Sponsored and introduced by PP Don Myers

Dorry used an informative PowerPoint to explain the progress of the ongoing YMCA capital campaign for a new facility, a program which has been in the works for many years.

For the first time in this two year site planning process, the Y is talking directly with the PUD about site acquisition of a 70,000 square foot parcel on their current campus. The commissioners and staff would like to develop the land themselves now, and appear to be fully supportive and committed to the YMCA being there as well as helping the Wenatchee Music Theater. They are preparing to announce their site plans during their board meeting on February 21st.

Now that we have a (somewhat) confirmed site placement on the lot, we can work on the design for the new facility. Once we have a good concept design we will be going public with our plans.

To date: Sixty nine (69) individuals or grantors have pledged and/or donated nearly $8M total thus far, with our latest and largest pledge coming in recently from a local family! All this without a confirmed site, renderings, or a professional fundraising firm to help. Below is a breakdown of where we are to date with $5.5M left to raise through private donations.

This week's News and Announcements.

IMAGINE ROTARY MOMENT.   President Jill recognized members who have served as mentors to new members: "This my friends is what makes us imagine Rotary.   Without members willing to step up and help a new member get plugged into our club, we would not have or keep those forward thinkers, out-of-the-box visionaries or members that have over 25 years of membership in our club.
