DECEMBER IS ROTARY'S DISEASE PREVENTION & TREATMENT MONTH
Final meeting of 2022
ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE
With Brett Riley, Chair, and
Rosario Muñoz, from Chile
We will learn about some of your Youth Exchange, past, present and future.
Come see why Youth Exchange is such an important part of Rotary. We will be visiting with Rosario our current inbound student to share her experience to date, including her recent visit to Silverstar on December 9-11. We will also get an introduction to our recently selected outbound student Bailey Wood. Bailey will be headed to Brazil for her outbound experience. Finally, we will be having a surprise visit from a previous inbound student all the way from Frankfurt, Germany.
The business meeting was called to order. President Jill and committee members gave some updates on some of our committees.

Ken reviewed history and purpose of WRF, which mostly focuses on college scholarships for deserving first-generation students. For 2023, $25K has been approved. Also, Our PEACE Plaza can be supported through GIVE NCW. Ken Robertson says: The Wenatchee Rotary Foundation (WRF) is participating in the GIVE NCW campaign that began on Thanksgiving Day and ends on December 31, 2022. Please encourage your Club members to make a donation to the WRF or other worthy charities participating in the GIVE NCW campaign at: https://cfncw.org/givencw2022/ . Funds recently donated are being sorted through; email receipts are coming soon to donors.
Many commercial businesses share profits with charities based on customer purchases year around. Two that we know about are Amazon and Fred Meyer.
Ken acknowledged to a questioner that we need to do better about having scholarship recipients attend a club meeting and give a report.
THE ROTARY FOUNDATION (TRF) - Frank Clifton, Chair
Team - Ford Barrett, Judy Conner, Susan Albert, Michelle Price, Dan Rodgers, Tom Ross
Some of our goals have been met: Increase club TRF knowledge; host D5060 TRF Chair Pete Erickson to speak; exceed president's giving goals by 50% (currently at 135%); develop a pool of donors to share TRF Transfer Points as incentives (>9,000 transferred to date). We have 4 new Paul Harris Fellows, 7 who have moved up one PHF level, and 2 who have jumped 2 levels.
New BOD-approved policy changes making use of club-owned TRF Transfer Points:
offer 400 points to new members donating $100 to TRF in their first year.
offer 200 points to members achieving the next level of Paul Scea Fellowship in the WRF.
