WEEK IN REVIEW -  August 27 (ZOOM #23)
Part 1 - Program: Pinnacles Prep (Charter School)
See ZOOM video edited recording HERE[password #9august27Jill ]
NOTE:  videos are only available for 2-3 weeks.
Get audio only HERE.   Previous APPLESEED.

Speaker Jill Fineis was introduced by President Kory as the principal of a new charter school in South Wenatchee.  Jill resides in Leavenworth with husband Jamie and their two beautiful babies.
Pinnacles Prep opens in fall 2021 and is sponsored by the Washington Charter Schools Association.
Public charter schools are intended to close the education gaps among at-risk populations but are open to all students.  They have more flexibility to innovate in teaching methods and personalization.
Our Mission - We exist to cultivate curious, confidant, and self-directed students that lead to success in college, career, and community.
Our Vision - Our students will be the leaders in driving the valley's future with the knowledge, skills, and mindsets needed to make it a thriving economic, scientific, and artistic hub for the 21st century.
We provide the tools and skills for students to develop the agency need to summit their own pinnacle toward college, career, and community readiness (C3R).
Our Values are EPIC - Equity, Perserverence, Inquiry, Collaboration.
We are unique in many ways.  See visual below.  Each student will have a mentor that they meet with each day.  They will receive social-emotional learning.  There will be heavy focus on S.T.E.M. and encouraging a sense of belonging to a family.
The facility will be located in south Wenatchee in the old Community Center via a lease agreement with the city beginning in January.  It will be enlarged and updated according to a new "Space Manifesto", ensuring it includes many positive qualities s shown in the graphic below, with hopes that it can continue to serve as a community center.
It will be built in phases, beginning with grades 6-7 (Phase 1), adding one grade per year eventually including a high school in Phase 2.

STUPID STUFF KORY HAS DONE.
This week's installment was committed at age 26, when after Easter dinner, he hand-excavated his front yard searching for an elusive water leak causing a large sink hole.

The meeting of August 27 was hosted by Jill Leonard.
