Speaker Jill Fineis was introduced by President Kory as the principal of a new charter school in South Wenatchee. Jill resides in Leavenworth with husband Jamie and their two beautiful babies.
Public charter schools are intended to close the education gaps among at-risk populations but are open to all students. They have more flexibility to innovate in teaching methods and personalization.

Our Vision - Our students will be the leaders in driving the valley's future with the knowledge, skills, and mindsets needed to make it a thriving economic, scientific, and artistic hub for the 21st century.
We provide the tools and skills for students to develop the agency need to summit their own pinnacle toward college, career, and community readiness (C3R).

We are unique in many ways. See visual below. Each student will have a mentor that they meet with each day. They will receive social-emotional learning. There will be heavy focus on S.T.E.M. and encouraging a sense of belonging to a family.
The facility will be located in south Wenatchee in the old Community Center via a lease agreement with the city beginning in January. It will be enlarged and updated according to a new "Space Manifesto", ensuring it includes many positive qualities s shown in the graphic below, with hopes that it can continue to serve as a community center.
It will be built in phases, beginning with grades 6-7 (Phase 1), adding one grade per year eventually including a high school in Phase 2.
President Kory Kalahar opened the ZOOM meeting to about 28 members and a few guests with Jill Leonard as ZOOM host. As usual, Raz provided a flag for the pledge.

Africa Polio-free. Rotary and The World Health Organization (WHO) on 25 August announced that transmission of the wild poliovirus has officially been stopped in all 47 countries of its African region. This is a historic and vital step toward global eradication of polio, which is Rotary’s top priority. Read more.

This week's installment was committed at age 26, when after Easter dinner, he hand-excavated his front yard searching for an elusive water leak causing a large sink hole.

This year, the Wenatchee Rotary Foundation (WRF) awarded 15 scholarships totaling about $24,000, including funding from the new Carol Norton WSU Fund. The story was featured recently by NCW Life (video at right), and previously reported in Wenatchee World and our APPLESEED.
By including highly vulnerable children in efforts towards better nutrition, SPOON contributes to achieving health for all, attaining the sustainable development goals, and supporting the transformation of child care systems to provide family care for every child. We are doing our part to ensure that millions of children experience one less barrier to enjoying the quality of life they deserve.

Reduced Costs: Less travel time for patients, specialists and staff; Reduced overhead costs.
Deb joined the Action Health Partners team in June 2014 and was appointed Executive Director of the organization in May 2016. Deb brings significant experience in coalition building and facilitating population health initiatives. She actively leads the Action Health Partners team in regional health care transformation work, working closely with the North Central Accountable Communities of Health.
