Program Last Week -
MISSION RIDGE SKI PATROL
With Delcie Proffitt,
Patrol Director
Sponsored by Bitt Dudek
The objective of the Mission Ridge Mountain Patrol is to offer our guests the best possible customer service. Rapid Response Rescue Care is the foremost responsibility of the Mission Ridge Mountain Patrol, followed closely by Search and Rescue, Lift Evacuation and Skier Education. We are here to carry out our assigned duties and responsibilities as directed, in a conscientious and professional manner.
The Patrol has a team made up of paid staff and volunteers, including EMTs, nurses and doctors.
Extensive training is required to serve (up to 110 hours). They also have specialties including ropes and explosives.
Serving is hard, sometimes dangerous work. Delcie also discussed "a day in the life of patrollers".
NEW MEMBER PROPOSALS. The board has approved a membership application for Anna Collum, a colleague of Tom Ross. She will become a member after two listings if there are no objections. Feedback accepted here.
Kevin Litterell and Malachi Salcido will be inducted at upcoming meetings. We are still accepting feedback on Malachi Salcido.
SERVICE PROJECT OPPORTUNITIES. We have two worthy projects on Saturday October 22, both needing volunteers. Since it is Make-A-Difference Day we are encouraged to do something of value to the community. Learn more at the next meeting or in previous Appleseeds.
POLIO FUNDRAISER. Less than a week out, Wenatchee area Rotary clubs still have 11 Traditional and 12 Chicken Florentine lasagna dinners to sell in our efforts to raise funds for polio eradication. Place orders here and please read Monday's email from PP Pete.
CHANGES TO PRESIDENTIAL SEQUENCE. The board has approved a request from P/E Michelle Shermer to delay her term until 2025-2026. P/E Nominee Gary Provo has agreed to serve 2023-2024. Read all the details in the President’s October Letter. You can provide feedback HERE.
Sponsored by the Wenatchee Valley Musuem and Cultural Center.
In 1980 Wenatchee Rotary raised $48,000 for the auction. $15,000 was used to purchase a reader board. This auction was the first event at the Wenatchee Convention Center.

Our 21st President was Paul Scea who was instrumental in the Wenatchee Rotary Foundation. The 42nd President was Dr Ed Cadman. Who went on to serve as District Governor and RI President. Ed Cadman was also the moving force to start the effort to eradicate polio.
Ford asked who the 32nd president was. Answer: Don Pybus served as President of our club.
