Wenatchee Convention Center

No one will want to miss out on this fun evening of socializing, dinner, and good-natured ribbing of Wenatchee's favorite newspaperman, Rufus Woods.   Plus, the money raised will help two of the region’s best non-profit organizations:

Alatheia Therapeutic Riding Center (ATRC) is a nonprofit therapeutic horseback riding facility that serves the special needs and Veteran communities of Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan and Grant Counties. We serve 100 riders (ages 3-87) each week with the help of more than 150 volunteers.  Alatheia’s vision is that all NCW people with disabilities are contributing and valued members of the greater community who have enhanced lives and dreams fulfilled.

Therapeutic riding positively affects physical, social and cognitive functions for individuals with disabilities. For the physically disabled child or adult it improves strength, balance, and coordination. For those with autism, the interpersonal interactions experienced improve social skills; for the learning disabled it opens pathways to learning. All translate into improvements in daily life activities. Over time, participants gain insight into their individual strengths and identify areas for improvement. The progress they make with ATRC sets a foundation to move on to more challenging physical and intellectual endeavors.

The CDAC mission is to end poverty by helping people and changing lives.  Donated funds will be used to relocate our food distribution center facility to meet the growth in demand.  We have been in the same facility for over 30-years, however, the amount of food we distribute has grown from 200,000 pounds a year to 2 million pounds. We support twenty-two food pantries, meal sites and senior living facilities throughout Chelan and Douglas County. Our current facility lacks the space to receive, inventory and distribute the quantity of food we are receiving.
