"Imagine a world that deserves our best where we get up each day knowing that we can make a difference"
RI President Jennifer Jones

On that is exactly what this club did!  Our excellent outgoing president Jill Leonard reviewed the accomplishments of the 2022-2023 Rotary year.
If you recall, In July, President Jill spoke about the president of 2022-2023 job was to usher the club back into rhythm.  She stressed two important goals:
1. Get the club reconnected as a whole
2. Get our hands dirty and engage in more community service projects.

A year in review PowerPoint can be seen at - YEAR IN REVIEW.

One of our favorite Rotarians was recognized for his work on Rotary's polio eradication program, PolioPlus.  Watch brief video here (at club meeting).

Pete Van Well was nominated by Past President Alice Meyer for the Regional Service Award for a Polio-Free World.  This award honors Rotarians who have made outstanding contributions to our polio eradication efforts.

Toast & Roast raised over $58,000 net for two wonderful organizations.   That is wonderful but my favorite part was the fellowship, laughter, and community support.   And fewer hours coordinating than an auction is a plus!  Club member Linda Anderson, Development Associate, and Susan Wall Board President with Alatheia Therapeutic Riding Center were present to receive the check.  Alan Walker, Executive Director, Chelan Douglas Community Action Council was unable to attend.

Community Outreach Committee presented one final grant.  Joe St. Jean gave the check to  Our Houserepresented by Emily Scovill, Director, and Norma Scovill, Board Chair

Our Interact Club.  Wow!  Talk about future leaders!  Led by Advisor Christie Payton with members Laurie Flarity White, Susan Albert and Lee Alley, it continues to excel in the mission of Rotary.

Pair & Share:  Who had fun this year?  Over 40 pair and shares were scheduled.   Our connection to each other has deepened.   Thank you to Allan Galbraith and Jessi Mendoza for taking the lead.

Sargeant of Arms team:   A huge round of applause is due Dick Reed, Leonard Singhose.   They are the glue that keeps the meetings together and flowing.   This team has some helpers throughout the year too, e.g. Gene Anderson, Mark Kulaas, and others.  But Thank you!  Did you know, this is the one committee that meets every week?   If you want to help with set-up and tear down for the weekly meeting on occasion, please reach out to Dick Reed or Gary Provo.  They could use some help.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK.   “Isn’t this a great time to be a member of Rotary?  We are in the midst of a wonderful history year!   One in all great honesty, no one is in a great hurry to end.  So instead of ending let’s create a new beginning. Instead of closing the doors on one year let’s build a bridge to the next! Because as one river flows, people appreciate a way across!   RI President-Elect Gordon McInally

While reading this quote, President Jill made the tranisiotn across the bridge by removing the Imagine Rotary theme banner and replacing it with the 2023-24 Theme banner.

The meeting was closed with President Jill riging the club bell (no cowbell).
