Kathy was introduced by Pete Van Well, who related a funny story of their first encounter. She joined the club in January, sponsored by her good friend Carin Smith. Ably assisted by her daughter Clarrissa Chavez, she presented an excellent PowerPoint loaded with family photos. In a highly animated, spicy, and humorous manner, Kathy shared many joys and tragedies of her fascinating life.
Pete Van Well recognized the PolioPlus Society members. PolioPlus Society members commit to giving $100 yearly to Rotary's PolioPlus campaign until Polio is eradicated. Thank you to Al Bridges, Ford Barrett, Lee and Roberta Alley, Loren Stach, Tom Leonard, Kathy Gut, Leonard Singhose, Gary Provo, Carin Smith, Pete Van Well, Chuck Jinneman, and Frank Clifton.
Input is still needed for the proposed fundraiser on October 14. The fundraiser would be a Poker Tournament with net proceeds benefiting Community Outreach Grants.
The Rotary Women of the Wenatchee Valley hosted a night out with a viewing of the popular Barbie Movie. Participants were encouraged to bring toiletries for YWCA and the Women's Resource. A truck load of supplies were collected at the event. Congratulations to Jon Volyn for winning the prize for best dressed.
