Rapid Response Rescue Care is the foremost responsibility of the Mission Ridge Mountain Patrol, followed closely by Search and Rescue, Lift Evacuation and Skier Education. We are here to carry out our assigned duties and responsibilities as directed, in a conscientious and professional manner.

Introduction by Michelle Shermer
Veronica joined the club December 16, 2021. She graduated from Washington State University in May 2021 with a bachelor's degree in Political Science with a Global Studies minor, as well as a bachelor's degree in Spanish. She is a recipient of a WRF Scholarship.
Verónica was born in Huapamacato, Michoacán and has lived in Wenatchee for 18 years. She currently works as Community Resource Specialist with Action Health Partners. In her free time, Verónica enjoys spending time with her family, watching documentaries, and reading. Verónica is honored to be a part of Rotary, a group that demonstrates each day what it means to put service above self.
She used a very nice PowerPoint and a "Culture Playbook" to describe her strengths, values, and her "20 Square Feet", and to also talk about her beloved family.

NEW MEMBER PROPOSALS. The board has approved membership applications for Kevin Litterell and Malachi Salcido. They will become members after two listings if there are no objections.
The New-Member Networking Event was a great time. Attending were 7 members and 5 potential members. Thank you to the Membership and Fellowship Committees for hosting.
END POLIO NOW Fundraiser dinners on October 22* for Polio Awareness Month. * Dinner for 2, $60, with 3 lasagna options.
PAIR AND SHARE. Get to know a fellow Rotarian better. Your Membership Development Committee has developed the “Pair and Share” opportunity for all members during the weeks of October 10 and 17, to connect with another Rotarian to become better acquainted. Members may identify another member with whom they would like to know more and better, notifying the Membership Development Committee, through Jessi Mendoza (JMendoza@numericacu.com) or Allan Galbraith (allan@hillatty.com). Jessi and Allan will pair members who did not select a member on their own.
Through October 17 the paired members are encouraged to connect over lunch, dinner, coffee, etc. Make sure to take a photo and submit to Allan for the Appleseed.
The Wenatchee Rotary Park Peace Pole and Pickleball Courts Dedication Ceremony will be Friday, October 21, 2022, at 5:00 pm. The ceremony will be near the Picnic Pavilion, the Peace Pole Plaza and the pickleball courts, all by the Maple Street parking lot of the park at 1810 Maple St, Wenatchee, WA. Bring your own chair.
Rotarians and their families from all Rotary Clubs are invited to attend! This event is open to the public.
The Dedication Ceremony will include light refreshments, dance and activities for children. Mayor Frank Kuntz and other civic leaders are expected to speak.
WT CLARK'S HIGHLINE CANAL. Joe St. Jean promoted an important event at the historic Welles House on the WVC campus, October 12, 6:30 - 7:30. Waylon Marshall and Alice Meyer, both from the Wenatchee Reclamation District, will be at the Wells House on October 12 to talk about the history of the canal that was truly a lifesaver to orchardists then and now. This one-hour talk starts at 6:30 and the cost is $10. Please registerhere.
