The Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority is the first of its kind in Washington. The Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority is the principal economic development agency for Chelan & Douglas Counties. The Port of Chelan County and the Port of Douglas County voted to functionally consolidate as of January 1, 2020 and operates as an independent government entity under the provisions of Title 53 of the Revised Code of Washington (RCW).
The Board of Directors, three commissioners from Douglas County and three commissioners from Chelan County, meet regularly on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Special meetings are called occasionally. Additional information can be found under the Board Meetings section.
The Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority mission is to “Work Together to Enhance the Economic Vitality of North Central Washington”.
Past President Alice Meyer graciously stepped forward to present her proposed new board-approved program, EarlyAct, a school club for youth in grades 5-8 at Pinnacles Prep. It is similar to Interact. Alice is passionate about EarlyAct and had proposed it two years ago to the board.
EarlyAct is not an official program on Rotary International as yet. This does not stop a school from starting an EarlyAct Club for anyone grades 5-8. All requirements for an EarlyAct charter are the same as for an Interact Club.
To see the presentation, you can watch the video recording. You will also hear some questions from your fellow members. For more information on Pinnacle Prep
The Wenatchee Club Board of Directors is in full support of this program. NO funds are being asked at this time to support this program.
Please submit your input by Tuesday, August 29. An email survey was sent to all active members.
Join Chelan Douglas Land Trust staff at the new Kenzie’s Landing Trailhead ( An WHS Interact Project) to protect newly planted shrubs on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
We will be watering, browse-protecting, and mulching shrubs planted in November 2022.
Meet at the trailhead by driving to the very end of Maiden Lane to 2300 Maiden Lane. You must drive on a short stretch of gravel road between the end of the pavement and the trailhead.
Wear long sleeves, long pants, and sun protection. Bring your own gloves, or borrow from us.
We will have a variety of tasks including hand-watering and carrying mulch in 5-gallon buckets and using a shovel to create shallow depressions around plants.
Before the event, fill out our participant waiver online here in English or here in Spanish if you have not yet done so this calendar year.
If you have questions, contact Susan Ballinger (509.669.7820) or email susan@cdlandtrust.edu
