Last week - Classification Talk
With The Sisters Grim, Nancy & Linda

Both Nancy Grette and Linda Anderson joined the club in January of 2023.
They spoke about their lives and family growing up, how went separate ways, then came back together to form a valuable ministry.  They married their high school sweethearts, and each had 3 children.
These sisters work together to serve the Alatheia Riding Center mission:  "Providing equine-assisted services to children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities and veterans living with PTSD and civilian-life adjustment challenges."

Wenatchee High School Interact Club Feeds The Unhoused at Wenatchee Rescue Mission

On Wednesday, Jan. 31 a group of five Wenatchee High School students and Interact Club members served dinner to more than 100 unhoused folks at the Wenatchee Rescue Mission in South Wenatchee.

It was Delany Micesell’s first time serving at the WRM, and it was an eye-opening experience for her.

“One of my biggest takeaways was just kind of coming to the realization that these people are just like – they have lives, they have stories. They’re not just people on the street,” she said.

Interact is a youth service club affiliated with Rotary International, and each club has a Rotary mentor. The WHS Interact club has about 25 members, and its mentor is Rotarian and community volunteer Laurie Flarity-White.

Our district is so close to being named an Environmental Sustainablity Rotary Action Group.   Join the group and help the District achieve this honor.

The Environmental Sustainability Rotary Action Group (“ESRAG”), was formed to take actions to sustain our environment, particularly to stabilize our climate.  Our Wenatchee Rotary Club has qualified as an “EcoClub” by ESRAG due to five members joining.   We have a strong ESRAG  presence with the Rotary Clubs of the Wenatchee Valley/. Our Western US Chapter is the largest (1,467 members) of all ESRAG chapters worldwide.  The ESRAG Chapter meets on Zoom at 5:30 PM on 2nd Thursdays.  You can register for these ESRAG webinars without joining ESRAG.

If you have questions about ESRAG or want to discuss it contact Lee Alley at 425.238.9775, LeeAlleyRC@gmail.com.

Did you know? There are dozens of national & international Rotary Action Groups dedicated to different service projects

WHAT DO MEMBERS WANT?

If you like to chat with your fellow members, this is a task for you.   The club leadership is conducting a verbal survey to ask "What members want from our meetings?" Contact Carin Smith via text or email Carin 509-699-1593, or carinsmithie@gmail.com to sign up to call ten members and ask them four short questions,

Paul Harris Fellows - Who are they?

Answer:   A PHF is any person who donates $1,000 cumulatively to The Rotary Foundation (TRF), or, who receives 1000 TRF Transfer Points to their RI Rotary account from another person, or a combination thereof totaling 1000.  [ A point is earned for each dollar donated to TRF, which then may be given to another person toward their PHF.]
The club, and certain members who have excess points, are offering incentive TRF points to encourage donations.  If you wish to claim TRF points, contact our TRF Chair, Frank Clifton with an explanation.

Club Database Improvements are Coming
Last fall the District decided to switch the membership management to DACdb.  Similar to ClubRunner, DACdb handles all aspects of member management. The robust platform empowers districts and clubs worldwide to enhance member communication and strengthen community outreach. The club board of directors voted in November to switch from ClubRunner to DACdb.  Over the next few months, a team of members will be working on our transition to DACdb. We are looking for individuals who can help clean up ClubRunner, transfer files to DACdb, and provide feedback on the new website. If you want to help with the transition, please reach out to Jill Leonard, ChaosControlMarketing@gmail.com.

You can check out DACdb using the link below.  To log in use the same email address you use for Clubrunner.  Click forgot/reset password and follow the instructions.

Please note we are in the transition process and not all information has been transferred.

We will be offering training once our data is transferred.
