UPDATED!
  VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
  February and March
Wenatchee Rotary Club is known for its community outreach in order to help worthwhile causes.  Two such opportunities arise in the near future.  Please volunteer if you can…

1) The Winter Special Olympics will be held in the Wenatchee Valley from February 28 through March 1.  Lots of volunteers are needed to help run the various events.  Do you like the outdoors?  There are events in skiing and snow boarding.  Do you want to be indoors?  How about helping monitor a gym during a basketball game or assist where
needed at the Saturday night dance for the athletes?  The following link will get you to the Special Olympics website for volunteers:     https://2020wintergames.my-trs.com/

Specifically,  what can you do?  Come help your fellow Rotarians as we work on making/assembling the decorations for the dance.
Details:
What: Decorations prep Party for SOWA Winter Games
When: Sunday, February 16th from 2pm-6pm
Where: Foothills Four Square Church 315 S. Mission St, Wenatchee (Basement entrance off Side parking lot)
Homemade Soup, bread and drinks will be provided!
There will be a “dance card” signup sheet at our next two February Rotary meetings.

2) The Wenatchee Rotary Club has volunteered to help during the Green Bag Food Drive on Saturday, March 14.
On the morning of the food drive, we will be assisting in the unbagging, sorting, and boxing  of the food items for distribution to needy families.
It is our club’s first time in assisting, so we are not really sure of the time frame, but we are guessing 2-3 hours – 9 a.m. ‘til Noon.  You will be hearing more about this as we near the month of March, but save the date for a fun volunteer opportunity.

WEEK IN REVIEW -  JANUARY 30
Business Wellness with Fletcher Ellingson

Fletcher was introduced by P/E Kory Kalahar as an impressive motivational and accountability coach who has impacted many lives in a positive way.
Fletcher leads seminars in achievement the primary one is called Your Life is Now.   Watch a video HERE.
He began by describing life as having only two states of mind:  Suffering or Beauty.  He explained how our lives are governed by how we deal with these two states of mind.
On his website he says "I am passionate about inspiring people and organizations to reach a higher level of performance.  For 25 years I have been speaking, entertaining, and challenging people from educational institutions and businesses to non-profits and individuals. I help them step into their potential using time- tested and life-changing principles."
He ended with a moving memory explaining how he got interested in this business.  Click HERE to listen to all of Fletcher's presentation and touching memory.
For his free online seminar, text your name and email to 509-679-0927.  This is only free to Rotarians at this time.

End Polio Now/Club 60:      Our goal this year is $7500.  On January 30, Club-60-cup donations totaled  $21.09 bringing our total to $1159  or $3477 with the Gates match!   This equates to 5806 lives potentially saved to date!
On World Polio Day, October 24, collections at KPQ totaled. about $700 by our club.  Also, total donations at the Greatest Dinner to End Polio were about $6611 between all clubs represented, plus about $700 in pledges.  Other uncounted donations are made by members through other avenues.
15%        [Goal is $7500 for Rotary year]

Note:  We continue our 10-year relationship with the Gates Foundation.  Since 2013, they have matched each dollar with $2 toward polio eradication.
