Nancy presented a brief history of Alatheia with facts on the people served and why the mission and work is important. She discussed Rotary’s March event - Raise the Paddle at the Toast and Roast - and the impact the funds raised will have on the participants they serve, programs offered and volunteers that make it all possible.
Between the therapeutic and adaptive riding programs, Alatheia serves a wide variety of special needs. Ranging in age from 3 to 93, riders may have a learning disability, genetic disorder, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, stroke, autism, or epilepsy.
In honor of the upcoming holiday, President Jill showed an inspirational video, an excerpt from a speech by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. - "What is in Your Life's Blueprint?"
INTERACT FUNDRAISER Feb. 10. Susan Albert and RYE student Rosario announced a showing of "The Breadwinner", a 2017 movie (adult animateddrama film) to be shown at Wenatchee High School hoping to raise $10K to help bring a refugee Afghan family here to join another Afghan family. Donations will be accepted at the event. Refreshments will be available and a small art gallery.
The film received an Oscar nomination in 2018 for best animated film and is based on a novel by Deborah Ellis dealing with life under Taliban rule in the late 1990s. Watch trailer here on IMDB website.

Katie Blair bragged on her father Dale, who was recognized recently by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) as an inductee to their Hall of Fame.
Carin Smith asked for love and sympathy as she prepares for long-awaited back surgery in 2 weeks. "I was born with a bad back. Bring me cookies..."
Allan Galbraith is still recovering at home from his serious accident, but he is able to walk 2 miles each day.
These photos were quickly idented by several members, as the Lincoln Park Play Area constructed circa 1995 following our 1994 auction raising more than $77K.
It was constructed in only 5 days by more than 15,000 volunteer hours during the reign of PP Judy Conner under the direction of PP Allan Galbraith.
